#39 - The Owner's Box, Omni Dallas Hotel

Okay, so back to posts about food... For the fan hospitality room at the Heart of Dallas Bowl, we decided to use The Owner's Box, the sports bar restaurant at the team hotel.  It wasn't ideal because while it has a sports bar feel, it is set up as more of a restaurant, but that was the best available option.  On the flip side, it's a really beautiful space, with about a million TV's (including a 16' TV on the far back wall), several different seating options, an outdoor patio that I can imagine is amazing in the summer, and even a private VIP space.  The hotel itself is only about a year old, and very nice.  It's located in the heart of downtown Dallas, next to the Convention Center and only a couple blocks from West End, Dealey Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum.

If you've never been to the Sixth Floor Museum, it's worth a trip to Dallas just for that.  Of course there's conspiracy theorists who spend their days on the grassy knoll trying to get you to buy books proving that the government was behind the assassination.  And there are two "X's" on Elm Street indicating the exact spots where Kennedy was shot.  I always wonder why they did that, because at all hours of the day there are people standing in the middle of the road, on the X's, for photo ops.  Wouldn't be so bad if the road was closed, but it's a pretty well traveled road, and people come over the crest of the hill at a pretty good rate of speed.  I'm honestly shocked nobody has gotten killed while out there.  But anyways, the museum is really cool and extremely moving.  I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it's a little too coincidental that of all the professional pictures taken that day, they are all crystal clear EXCEPT those taken a second before until about 2 seconds after the shots were fired.  And then that they somehow "lost" Kennedy's brain at the hospital, which would have shown the path of the bullets.  I believe that once everyone who had anything to do with anything are dead, the truth will come out.

But anyways, back to the food... Ellen and I had gone over to 6th Street Uptown, our "official party bar", to decorate, so by the time we got back we didn't have tons of time before we had to be at work.  And we had taken my parents' car, so they were waiting for me back in my hotel room.  So instead of leaving the property, I figured we could just eat at The Owner's Box.

Unfortunately their menu isn't really vegetarian friendly, so I suggested they just get the margherita pizza.  My mom immediately panicked, thinking I was having them order something with alcohol.  She does drink, but very rarely and not at 11AM.  So I had to reassure her that it was perfectly fine, and showed her the menu explaining that it just meant cheese, basil and tomatoes.

I had heard good things about their burgers, so decided to try the Bleu Burger with fries
Bleu Cheese, Arugula, Tomato, Onion
Man, that burger is awesome!!  It's much more food than I should have eaten, but all I had for breakfast was some fruit and coffee, so that made it okay.  It was big chunks of bleu cheese, which I absolutely love.  I don't know if I've ever had arugula before, and definitely haven't had it on a burger, but it has really good flavor.  And the fries were hot, fresh and delicious.

You can see a little bit of my parents' pizza in the top left hand corner of the picture.  We were all pretty disappointed because we asked the waitress how much it was and she said it would definitely be enough for 2.  Maybe 2 people who aren't hungry... My parents did say it was really good though.  They thought about ordering another one, but then the waitress mentioned bread pudding for dessert and they went with that instead.

I am now officially a huge fan of bread pudding.  This was absolutely fantastic...warm, gooey deliciousness, and even though it was just vanilla ice cream on top, it was a perfect complement.  Luckily by the time they ordered the dessert I was already off getting ready for the hospitality room to open, so I only had time for one bite.  I say luckily, because I could have eaten the entire thing on my own.

Will I go back?  To eat...doubtful; for happy hour...probably, just to check out the patio.  The food was really good, but they weren't the most cooperative to work with.  And they nickle-and-dimed us for everything.  We're accustomed to hotel bars that are willing to be very accommodating, because they understand how much business we bring them for those couple days.  I'm really hoping that whichever team stays there next year has a better experience.

"What Exactly Do You Do At Away/Bowl Games?"

I've been a part of quite a few bowl games.  At Maryland we went to the Orange, Peach and Gator Bowls.  Although I went as part of the football staff, I didn't have any work responsibilities...so to be honest, it ended up being just a fun vacation for me.  Gamedays in general were like that for me--I worked hard all week, and on gamedays I went to a lot of tailgates...you know, just to make sure everyone was having a good time.

Being at OSU has been very different.  I work hard all week AND on gameday.  And then I work at the bowl game.  I'm usually there for about a week...the first couple of days I get to have fun, and then the work begins.  But I really can't complain.  And how can I complain when I get to take pics like this?!

We've been to a bowl every year since I got here in '07:  Insight, Holiday, Cotton, Alamo, Fiesta, and Heart of Dallas (HOD).  When we got selected for the HOD, a lot of people in Cowboy country were not happy, and that's putting it mildly.  But after people got over the anger and shock, they came to support the team and had a good time.  And I think, in time, that bowl will get a lot better.  We just happened to be basically the guinea pigs, as this was the first year of the bowl.

So, people always ask me what I do at away/bowl games, and the answer is pretty simple...I coordinate fan activities.

A lot of teams have The Walk at home games...we took it on the road, starting in 2007.  We do it at every away game, where the team buses drop them off at the stadium.  Our fans have come to expect it, the players love the support, and when the staffs at other facilities balk at it, I let them know (nicely of course) that our fans are going to show up anyway.  And they do. The bowl game is a little more challenging, because when we play at NFL stadiums they unload buses under the stadium, and won't even consider changing.  That's when we do the walk from the team hotel.  And honestly, the 2 best bowl Road Rallies were at the hotels.  At the Holiday Bowl we had a super long, really tall hotel lobby and they let the band play as the team walked through.  Apparently you could hear the band all the way up to the 7th floor.

The Alamo Bowl hotel had 3 levels that looked over into the main lobby...every inch of space was packed both in the lobby and outside where the team started walking through.  The band again led the team through the lobby.  I walked through the lobby with Coach Gundy...the noise in there was deafening, and he stopped several times to look up at the crowds on the upper floors and wave.  He was really impressed.  This year it was early, absolutely freezing and even raining a little so I had no idea what to expect, but I was impressed that we still had a few hundred people show up.
Outside the team hotel at the Alamo Bowl
Another thing I do is find a local bar to be our "official party headquarters".  Some bars go all out, letting us decorate and basically take over.  Others, not so much.  But even if they don't, they love the additional business and publicity.  I try to find something relatively close to the stadium so on gameday fans can park just once.  I am officially at the bar Friday night for a couple of hours. If kickoff is afternoon or evening, I'll also be there officially on Saturday for a few hours before the Road Rally.

One of my favorite bars that I'm going to miss not going to anymore is Mad Hatter's in College Station, TX.  Last year our band came and played on game morning, and was a huge hit.  I need to work on doing that more often.

Last year, in conjunction with Pam and Chase from the Alumni Association, we started doing freebie giveaways the night before the game at the bar.  I give away a POSSE star stickers, and you would think I was giving away gold.  People LOVE them, and I've even had people try to buy them from me.  Austin is another one of my favorites, because the bar we use, the Blind Pig Pub, is right on 6th Street and owned by an OSU alum.  Friday night the bar is basically ours for a few hours, and on gameday they do a free BBQ lunch.
The Blind Pig Pub, Austin TX
The Fiesta Bowl was a little challenging from a bar standpoint because the team hotel and one fan hotel were in Scottsdale, the alumni hotel was in Tempe, and the stadium was in Glendale.  So we basically had official party bars in all 3 areas.  We also had an OSU party the day before the game at RockBar in Scottsdale. Alex, the owner, is an OSU alum, he decorated the place orange, rented party buses to take fans to and from the hotels in Scottsdale, and even put together a slideshow of past and present gameday pictures.  The bar was packed all day and night with OSU fans.  I'm definitely finding a place to do that from now on, as long as we don't play on New Year's Day, which I really hope we never do again.
During bowl week we also host a POSSE hospitality room at the team hotel.  Although we have a fan hotel, most of our fans gravitate to the team hotel to be where the team is and where more of the action is.  That didn't happen so much this year, but I think that was more a function of people coming to town closer to gameday--and so many of our fans already living in Dallas--than anything else.  The room is open the 2 days prior to the bowl game.  We've done it in a hotel ballroom, in the hotel restaurant, and in the hotel bar.  Trial and error has taught me that the hotel bar is the best option, by far.

Every year I try to get better at these events.  In the beginning I publicized mainly through email, but in the past year I've done a lot more on Facebook and Twitter.  I give lots of free publicity to the official party bar, and I provide our fans with as much information as I can find about the whole game weekend.  This year we're going to create a Road Rally logo, and get branded koozies to add to our giveaways.

One thing I've learned over the years is that I'm horrible at taking pictures at these events.  I always have grand plans to overload my camera with pictures, but I get preoccupied with being social, and I forget.  Major fail.  That is officially my mission for 2013.

Another question I get quite a bit is "do you love your job"?  I'm not gonna lie and say I love it all the time--and anyone who does is clearly lying--but I am very blessed to get to travel with football and do all this fun stuff.  Most people I know in my position at other schools don't.  And not only do I love getting to plan all these activities, and I get to do it for and with my friends.  So how could I not?!

#38 - Joe T Garcia's, Ft. Worth, TX

If you like Mexican food, Joe T Garcia's is one of those places you must go.  It's located in the heart of old Ft. Worth, about an hour from our hotel in Dallas.  I had actually never been before, but had always heard such great things so I was excited to go on this big group outing.

Joni and Tony don't live too far away, so they joined us for the evening.  We were in La Puertita, the private banquet facility that I think was a church in its previous life.  It's large and beautiful, with high ceilings and old architecture.  We had our own private mariachi band and there was an awesome balloon caricature guy.  We were all trying to figure out at what point in life you decide to do that for a living.  But he's really good, and I was very impressed with my crown.

Davidell tried to play the horn with the band, but he ran into some issues and just couldn't do it.  But the sombrero looked great on him.

Rumors are the margaritas have Everclear in them.  I don't know if they do or not, but what I do know is that they were amazing.  At first we had to go to the bar to get them, but before long Tony just got a pitcher for the table, so we wouldn't have to walk that far.

The menu is very simple...you can get a family style dinner, chicken fajitas, or beef fajitas.  That's the  kind of menu that I like.  They've got some breakfast specials that are offered for lunch on the weekends and some additional lunch items and appetizers, but in reality most people do one of the first 3.

We started with cheese nachos, chips, guacamole, queso, salsa and tortillas.  They were all fantastic.  The guac was fresh, the queso was warm and amazing, the chips were warm and the cheese tortillas were delicious.  Eventually I had to force myself to stop eating so I would have any chance of being able to eat dinner.

For dinner we had a huge buffet spread that inclued rice, beans, cheese quesadillas, beef fajitas and chicken fajitas.  The only thing I didn't get were the quesadillas, beans and rice.  I had meant to go back and get those after my first plate of fajitas, but I was so full I could barely even move.  Since I forgot to take my own pictures, I found this one online.  It's actually perfect because it is a great representation of what our table looked like:

Wow, I really think I could eat that every night!!  Well, maybe not because then I would weigh about 500 pounds.   But I can think about doing it.

Thank goodness we had a big bus drive us all there.  Between the margaritas and all the food, I was in a quick coma and slept pretty much the entire way back to the hotel.

Will I go back?  Joe T Garcia's is officially on my must-do list every time I'm in Ft. Worth...no question.

#37 - Another Broken Egg Cafe, Dallas TX

When I'm out of town I don't usually go out to eat for breakfast.  Normally I'll just eat something light at the hotel or skip breakfast all together, and then focus more on lunch and dinner.  However, we got kind of a late start to the morning, and by the time we left the hotel we were hungry.  One of my favorite breakfast spots in Dallas is Cafe Brazil, but I wanted to find something different and we had seen a breakfast restaurant near to Royal Thai the night before.  So off to Another Broken Egg Cafe we went.

The restaurant serves breakfast, brunch and lunch.   Most of their locations are in Texas and other parts of the southeast, with one random location in Burbank and another in Indianapolis.  I thought it was kind of interesting that it had a full bar, considering they're only open until 2pm on weekdays and 3pm on Saturday & Sunday.  But I guess it's always 5pm somewhere...

They've got a wide variety of menu items, and it really offers a little bit of something for everyone, including gluten free and vegetarian menu items.  I decided to go with the Lakeshore Scramble, and that comes with an english muffin and seasoned potatoes
Scrambled eggs, baked bacon, onions, mushrooms & ham with Cheddar-Jack
The scramble was a lot more food than I was expecting.  But regardless, it was delicious.  I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes to bake the bacon rather than fry it, other than it probably retains less fat.  I asked them to go light on the cheese, but there was still quite a bit.  I'm kinda scared to see how much there would have been had I not said that.  The seasoned potatoes were hot and crisp and perfect.  The english muffin definitely wasn't Thomas' since there were no nooks & crannies to be found.  But honestly I liked them better.  It was thicker, and I think it was whole grain.

Would I go back?  Definitely.  There were lots of things on the menu I would like to try, and everything we had was really good.

#36 - Royal Thai, Dallas TX

When it comes to my parents, our eating out options are pretty simple, and usually boil down to Italian, Chinese, Thai or pizza.  When they're here I add in Mexican as an option, and every once in a while will throw in an American option, just because. Regardless, I always check out the menu online, to make sure there's something they can eat, since they're vegetarian.

It was late afternoon by the time we got to Dallas for the bowl trip.  We ate a really late lunch, so we all napped when we arrived at the hotel.  Eventually we were hungry for dinner, and decided on Royal Thai.  It's located in a strip mall, and looks very indistinct from the outside.  But as we pulled up we saw it was crowded which is definitely a good sign.  Happily we were seated immediately.

We were kind of cold, so we ordered hot tea.  Usually in Asian restaurants the tea is served to the table in a ceramic pot, and they include small cups.  This time, we got individual cups of hot water with tea bags.  I was a little surprised, but the tea was hot and good so oh well.

My dad suggested we start with the mango rolls

Fresh mango, green leaves jicama, mit and vermicelli noodles wrapped in soft rice paper.
Served with Thai vinaigrette
They were really delicious.  They were cold, which I wasn't really expecting, but that worked perfectly with the ingredients in the roll.  And the ingredients all worked really well together.  The vinaigrette was sweet, and it lent an awesome flavor.

For dinner I went with the shrimp cha-cha

Wok-tossed shrimp with Thai herbs, young peppercorn, bell pepper, jalapeno,
green bean, chili-garlic sauce, and Thai basil
Wow, this was awesome.  I had never seen young peppercorns before, so was a little thrown off by the look of them.  But I figured they were just for garnish and to add flavor, so I didn't try them.  The beans and peppers were cooked tender-crisp, just the way I like them.  I acccidentally took a bite of straight jalapeno, and immediately regretted it.  So I took the rest of them out so I wouldn't make same mistake again.  The shrimp were huge and delicious.  The sauce had tons of flavor, and I poured it over my rice.

Will I go back?  Definitely, next time I'm in Dallas.  My parents actually went back the night of the game.  I was at 6th Street Uptown with friends, but they said it was just as good the second time around.

#35 - Saturn Grill, OKC

I am 100% convinced weather people have the greatest gig in the world.  They're wrong...A LOT.  And when they are, they can just claim the front came through either faster or slower than predicted.  But yet they still make tons of money and no matter how many times they're wrong they never get fired.  I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong business.

In the days leading up to Christmas they predicted about 10" of snow on Christmas Day, with horrible driving conditions, etc.  They said it could be almost as bad as the Christmas Day snowstorm of 2009.  On that Christmas Eve in '09 I didn't really believe it, and was just going about my business, starting to pack to leave on the 26th for the Cotton Bowl.  I fell asleep on the couch and woke up at about 1am.  Something told me to go get a shovel, just in case.  It's times like that I appreciate Wal Mart's 24-hour hours, as I was able to get a shovel and some sand.  Good thing, because I woke up Christmas morning to about a foot of snow on the ground.  I spent all afternoon shoveling so I could actually leave on the 26th.

Fast-forward 3 years.  At my mom's suggestion I went to Wal Mart a few days before Christmas and bought another shovel, so my dad could help me clear the driveway.  My parents and I woke up Christmas morning to nothing...no snow, no ice, nothing.  We got a little freezing rain around noon, but that's it.  That reminds me, I need to take the other shovel back.

On the 26th we headed out bright and early to OKC, to check out the day-after-Christmas sales.  We hit 8 stores plus the mall and I think I bought 2 things total.  Usually there's tons of holiday stuff on clearance, but there was very little left, and what was still there was completely picked over. I was so disappointed and annoyed.

After a few hours we were starving.  I had heard lots of good things about Saturn Grill, so decided to go there.  I actually tried to go a few weeks before, but it was on a Sunday...they're not open on Sunday...something I didn't realize until I pulled into the parking lot.

They've got 2 locations in OKC, and we went to the one on Memorial.  It's in a strip mall, and you have to know where it is, or you will miss it. The restaurant isn't very big, but it has a cool, eclectic look to it. You order at the counter, and they bring you your food.

All the sandwiches come with their "famous mustard potato salad".  My dad and I decided to add salads to our meal, and my mom just substituted a salad for the potatoes with hers.  I went with the #12 - Spicy Turkey and the Caesar salad

Thinly sliced grilled turkey, bacon, melted swiss, grilled onion,
hot peppers & red chili mayo on flat bread

I didn't realize that the salad came with chicken...not that it was a bad thing, but it did kinda catch me off-guard.  The salad was delicious, but I only ate some of it so I would have enough room for my meal. The turkey sandwich was amazing.  The flat bread was super fresh and tasted homemade.  The sandwich was served warm, so the cheese was melty ooey gooey.  The chili peppers and mayo added a kick, but it was not overpowering.  The sandwich was also huge.  I should have just eaten half, but that just wasn't an option and I scarfed down the whole thing.

The potato salad was okay. I never thought I would ever come across a potato I didn't love, but I wasn't really a fan of this one.  I think it had too much vinegar for my taste.  My dad really liked it though, and ate most of mine in addition to his.  Next time I'll probably just get the sandwich and no sides, because that really would be enough.

Will I go back?  No question.  The food was hot and fresh and made to order.  I could eat warm bread all day long, so that was just a bonus.

Repeats with a Twist - Upper Crust, OKC

Working in athletics, and in particular with football, the holiday season really isn't a vacation.  Pretty much the whole month of December is centered around the bowl game.  I'm not complaining, because I've been blessed to be a part of lots of great bowl trips and it's a great chance to spend time with my friends in a fun city.  But a week in a hotel does get old, and I don't usually get to spend Christmas with my family.

My first year in Oklahoma I flew back to Maryland for a couple of days, then flew right back to Stillwater to head to the bowl.  After that, my parents started meeting me in the bowl city, but always 2+ days after Christmas.  This year, since we were playing right in Dallas, my parents decided to fly in on Christmas Eve, and we would just drive down to Dallas together.

You just never know how crowded restaurants are going to be on Christmas Eve...are tons of people going to go out, since nothing is open on Christmas and most people cook a family meal that day?  I didn't want to make a reservation anywhere, just in case my parents' flight was delayed, so I decided to take them to Upper Crust for some pizza.  It's located in the trendy Classen Curve, right across the street from Chesapeake Energy, and they also just recently opened another location in Edmond.  I had been one time before with Jack & Betty and it was really delicious.  And besides, we all like pizza.

We all started with the Farmer's Market Salad
Boston Bibb & arugula with fuji apples, candied walnuts, and Gorgonzola tossed with white balsamic vinaigrette
They must keep the plates in the fridge, because they are always ice cold, which I think is really cool.  The dressing is very light, and isn't drowning the salad.  I'm not really a fan of walnuts, but when they're candied I'll definitely eat them.  And they add a nice crunch and sweetness to the dish.

We went with the LK (veggie) pizza.  I don't do eggplant so we took that off, and added fresh basil
Pie sauce, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, goat cheese, eggplant,
artichokes, red pepper, red onion, Parmesan
I was obviously about halfway through the first slice before I remembered to take a picture!  I love this pizza.  The ingredients are fresh, and the combination of veggies was really good.  Fresh basil adds such a great kick to anything you put it on.  One pie was more than enough for the 3 of us to share, but if you're really hungry, you can make it enough for just 2.

I don't normally get dessert at a restaurant, but this is one of those places where I make an exception...for the cookie pie
A pizza pan cookie topped with vanilla bean
I absolutely love this dessert!!  It normally comes with vanilla ice cream, but we got the macadamia nut instead.  The cookie comes right out of the oven, so the ice cream is already starting to melt a little by the time it gets to the table.  Yep, I could so eat one of those completely by myself.  Luckily my mom really doesn't have a sweet tooth, so she only had a couple of bites and left the rest for me and my dad.   And, in the spirit of Christmas, I allowed him to have the last bite.  BJ's Brewhouse has a cookie pie...it's really good, but I still think it's in 2nd place compared to this one.

Will I come back?  Of course!  This was already my second trip and it most certainly won't be my last.  They only sell the Cakebread sauvignon blanc by the bottle, so I need to go back with a couple of friends to take full advantage.

#34 - Big Fish Seafood Grill & Bar, Grapevine, TX

After my site visit for the bowl game was done, I headed back to Flower Mound to stay with friends. No reason to race back to Stillwater late in the afternoon.

If you've never been to Grapevine, you definitely need to visit.  I've been to the outlet mall a couple of times, but never to downtown.  The weather was great so we walked around a little bit, and checked out a few of the shops.  They have so many cute little shops, and since it was before Christmas they were all decked out and had tons of great ornaments, decorations and gifts on sale.  Joni and I both restrained ourselves from buying anything, even though I could have easily spent a bunch of money.

It always takes us a while to decide what to eat, because we can never agree on a cuisine or location.  But eventually we settled on seafood, and went to Big Fish Seafood Grill.  Its located right on Main street, in the heart of downtown. It was Friday night and therefore packed when we arrived, so we headed to the bar for a cocktail while we waited.  Thankfully the wait wasn't long, and within about 5 minutes we were seated.

I would say the biggest down side is that the restaurant isn't very big and they certainly take advantage of every square inch. If you're not friends with the people at the table next to you when you arrive, you probably will be by the time you leave.  And the bar was packed with people there for happy hour and those waiting for a table.  But I never felt overcrowded.

We started with the fried pickles.

They were a delicious pile of hot, salty goodness!!  Joni and Tony were pretty good and only ate a little, while I was wolfing them down.  But I eventually exercised some restraint and stopped, if for no other reason so that I could eat my actual meal.

A lot looked good, but nothing absolutely jumped out at me.  They have a big chalkboard behind the bar that lists all of their daily specials. I still couldn't decide, so the waiter suggested the blackened redfish with cajun cream sauce.  I honestly don't even know if I've ever had redfish before, but since the waiter said he really liked it I decided to give it a shot.  All of the entrees come with 2 sides, so I did hush puppies and red beans w/rice.

The fish was seasoned perfectly, and the sauce added an amazing flavor to the dish.  The blackening spice had a lot of flavor but wasn't too spicy. The hush puppies were hot, fresh and delicious.  The red beans and rice were also really good.  There was a ton of food and I couldn't even finish my meal, even though I gave it my best effort.

Will I go back?  Definitely!  I always love when I can get good seafood, and Big Fish doesn't disappoint.

#33 - Texas Spice, Dallas TX

Wow, it's been a month since I posted about a restaurant in this blog!! That means I've got lots of work ahead of me, since we went to about 10 new restaurants in the past month.

The evening of our site visit for the bowl game they hosted us for dinner at
Texas Spice, the mid-priced restaurant at the team hotel. It's a very nice place, kinda dark (maybe that's for atmosphere) and has a really cool outdoor patio that I'm sure would be fantastic in the warmer months.

We started with a couple of appetizers. I forgot to take a picture of the BBQ steak wraps, but they were really delicious. It came with poppy seed slaw, caramelized onions, and feta cheese (or "feeta", as Mack kept calling it). The other appetizer was a tasting of deviled eggs: pickled & belly; smoked salmon and caper; classic.

I'm not really a fan of capers so I skipped that one because I knew the brine from the capers would have sunk in already. The classic were, well, classic. To me, that's really the best way to eat deviled eggs, and I could honestly eat about a dozen of them in no time. We all tried to get each other to try the pickled first. I can't remember who finally decided to be the guinea pig, but once they said it was okay, I decided to try it. It was okay, but I still really preferred the classic.

I decided to go with the Texas Waygu beef as my entree. It comes with horseradish twice baked potatoes, and I was honestly looking forward to trying those out, but when Mack ordered the mac & cheese with his steak I realized that was a much better idea.

The steak was amazing. It was cooked perfectly, and the bordy sauce, whatever that was, was really delicious. I'm glad I went with the mac & cheese because it was delicious.  The cheese didn't take over the whole dish, just simply added great flavor. Not sure exactly what kind of greens they were, but they were very tasty. I'm assuming collards and maybe kale.

And if all this food wasn't enough, then came dessert.

There were several different types of desserts, but I picked this one which was like a chocolate mousse.  It was just a mini serving, which was really good considering all the food and wine we had during dinner.  Perfect way to end the meal.

Will I come back?  You  know, although it was really delicious, there are so many great steak places in Dallas that it wouldn't be at the top of my list...unless someone else was treating :)
